This is the second book I've read by Brene Brown. The first book I read by her is Rising Strong & one I would also recommend by her. All her books are page turners and great reads!
In this book, we go over dehumanization which can happen when a miscommunication can occur. Anytime, this happens we are not being mindful of another and need to change our approach.
Then there is. a trump supporter is the same as a non-trump supporter. They both value a sense of hate, a hate towards trumps values and a hate towards non-trump values. You may think they are two very different people but are actually pretty similar.
"Braving the wilderness is feeling whole no matter where you are or who ypu're with." Brene talks about this more with Maya's quote. You can't always fit in or have your crew but braving the widlerness and finding home all around are key towards feeling this way.
Bullshit and lying are two different things and
do not need to be together. People have all probably bullshitted something at some point but do not get it confused with lying.
There is such thing as collective joy even at funerals. Brene also say's funeral are important and need the most respect. There is also energy intimacy at these events.
You need a strong back but a soft front, you can't be hard on both sides or you will struggle with too much turmoil you need a balance of both.
There is no joy without gratitude and that is how people can feel joy. So be a wild heart, braving the wilderness because you're the wilderness. These are my take aways from the book hope you enjoy and read it for yourself soon.
